Pellet Stove Parts
When
it comes to pellet stoves you can bee sure the parts are not interchangeable from one stove to the next. A Harmon part can not be used in a
Whitfield stove and vice versa.
So you must know your stove’s make, model and serial
number when looking for a specific part. This information is usually made available to you on an aluminum label on the back by the gas valve
or under the hopper lid.
However some inserts hide the label inside the
fireplace so removing the stove may be the only way to find it. At any rate this information is crucial to getting the right part for your
pellet stove.
When you first purchase your stove you need to put the
owner’s manual in a safe place where you know you can find it. If you lose the owner’s manual, do a search on the internet for the brand name
and check out the site. Usually they will have a place for you to download the manual.
Pellet stoves are a very complex product. They have a
variety of moving parts and they all need maintenance and some even need to be preplaced at times. That is why it is extremely important that
before you buy a particular stove from a dealer that you question him about the availability of parts. Does he have them in stock and if not
how long a wait will you have when you order them.
Being diligent to ask these questions before you buy a
stove could save you a lot of heartache later on. Also ask him about maintenance of the stove and does he provide it. If he does you would do
well to go ahead and purchase a maintenance contract with him so you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are covered in case you
ever need any parts.
